Wall following applied to house cleaning robots

Wany has patented a low cost telemeter which permits excellent measurement from 1cm onwards. Based on our expertise in odometry and data fusion, Wany has developed a very efficient algorithm to hug walls regardless of their shape (curved, right and open angles…). Wall following is one of the key navigation requirements for house cleaning robots.

Video 1 : Curved Wall

This video demonstrates Wany’s wall following algorithm embedded in a vacuum. The robot follows a curved wall at a distance of 1 cm. (2,5 Mo, 15”)

 

 

 

Video 2 : Right Angles

This video demonstrates Wany’s wall following algorithm embedded in a vacuum cleaner. The robot follows a wall with acute and obtuse angles. The video shows that the algorithm works with walls of different colors, i.e. light and dark ones. (8,2 Mo, 1’12”)
