Wany Robotics’ Pekee™ robot is an open robotic development toolkit for researchers, educators, and students in technology. Pekee helps you understand robotics and robotic software, from basic concepts to high-level development in the Wany Robotic Software Lab™. These tools give fast hands-on experience with all the latest in robotics, from algorithms for autonomous movement and obstacle avoidance, to embedded video, network, signal analysis, and artificial intelligence. Robotics in action - design your own behaviors The Pekee robot is designed around a completely open architecture that provides total flexibility for your robotic application testing and development. Its built-in infrared, temperature, and light sensors, odometers, shock detector, and gyrometers ensure that you can monitor critical elements in the robot’s environment at all times. The Pekee platform lets you pursue your own projects at all levels, from trajectory planning to real-time programming in consumer prodcuts such as robotic vacuum cleaners and interactive toys.

Plug-in cartridges
To meet the needs of the most demanding robot enthusiasts, Pekee includes two plug-in daughterboard cartridges:
  • An embedded PC daughterboard cartridge Windows OS operated with built-in Ethernet and USB, plus standard connectors for keyboard, mouse, monitor, and more. This module also includes a color video camera, (720 x 560 pixels).
  • An 802.11 wireless module to remote control the Pekee robot and stream data and video directly to a computer in real-time
Vision and video processing
Wany Robotics daughterboard cartridges plug into the Pekee motherboard’s patented Open Parallel Platform™ (OPP) bus, which guarantees efficient simultaneous operation of plug-in cartridges, as well as inter-cartridge communications. Other accessories for Pekee include a 5-pack of prototype development (wrapping) cards so you can design and test your own electronic inventions.
