A extended software toolbox
After having heard hundreds of users across the world, we decided to design PekeeII to be shipped with a comprehensive set of software libraries. Consequently, the robot API has been developed to be cross platforms compatible (Linux, Windows,…) and is available in several version (C, C++, C#, Java).
We kept in mind that the robot has to adapt to the requirement of its users and not the opposite.
PekeeII is open to Matlab
We noticed that most users of the previous generation of Pekee were doing a lot of work on Matlab. In order to let them develop freely on their favourite tools, we choose to develop a set of Mex files to set up a real integration of PekeeII in Matlab. Hence PekeeII user can access directly to the raw odometers data in Matlab and simply leverage control loop within the software. Choosing PekeeII with an embedded PC means that there is no need for a remote computer to achieve that.
In addition, the external interface library provided with PekeeII allows gathering raw images from the onboard camera. Using the Matlab Image processing Toolbox is then very easy for applications such as shape, face or objects recognition.
PekeeII is open to all software
PekeeII has been designed to be used with major robotics software and simulator and development tools. Choosing PekeeII doesn’t mean giving up your favorite workspace. PekeeII enable continue to carry on your projects with familiar tools, but also to discover and experiment many innovative software from our partners.
Microsoft Robotics Studio
The Microsoft Robotics Studio software development kit enables developers to create applications for a wide-variety of robot hardware. It includes a simple, but powerful runtime platform, easy to use authoring and simulation tools
Player Project
The Player Project enables research in robot and sensor systems. The Player robot server is one of the most widely used robot control interface in the world. It is compatible with a large variety of hardware and of course, PekeeII has been designed to be compliant with it.
