There are many standard wheels and tyres that can be used on Pekee II. Each set of wheels has its own characteristics and can be used under different circumstances.

Soft wheels are the best choice to be associated with the slow ratio gearbox as they maximise the torque and hence provide to the robot the best possible traction.

Soft wheels are best for applications requiring maximum grip such as pushing / pulling objects or moving on slipping surfaces. These soft wheels also allow reducing vibrations.

These hard wheels have been specially designed for PekeeII and its high accuracy odometers in order to suppress any unwanted slipping of the robot which may cause a bias in the odometer data and affect the localisation system
